A colony of super-strong ants were seen carrying chili peppers five-times their size back to their nest in an amazing show of pint-sized brawn.
The small chilies looked enormous next to the tiny weaver ants who dragged them along by their stems in Mataram City, Indonesia.
Making their feat even more impressive, the two millimetre-long ants – who weigh just 5mg – navigated a thin branch upside down as they carried the fruit.
Amateur photographer Adhi Prayoga, 49, captured the amazing shots in a garden.
Mr Prayoga, from Mataram City, said: ‘They were carrying the food to their nests, which were in the leaves of a pomegranate tree about half a metre from the ground.
‘I was very happy to see this because I was able to see their hard work, cooperation, discipline and strength.’
