McLeod’s Daughters creator Posie Graeme-Evans has given fans an insight into what they can expect from the highly anticipated movie.
The 68-year-old writer has been working on a script for the upcoming McLeod’s Daughters movie.
In an interview with TV WEEK on Monday, Posie revealed that the script will focus heavily on Claire’s daughter Charlotte, who she’s nicknamed BOM (‘Baby of McLeod’).

Nick and Tess’ daughter Ruth, and Stevie and Alex’s son Xander will also feature in the upcoming movie.
‘Of course, everybody wants to meet the children. Everyone knows BOM. BOM’s all grown up. BOM’s 21. We’re going to meet BOM,’ she explained.
Posie also gave some insight into the personalities of the children, describing Charlotte as ‘awkward’, ‘brusque’ and ‘a wallflower’, Ruth as ‘spontaneous’, ‘a chatterbox’ and ‘a drama queen’, and Xander as charming, cheeky and a go-getter.

Posie said she was also exploring the origins of the McLeod family, with one part of the story featuring their 1850s ancestors, Henrietta ‘Henri’ McLeod and her husband.
The script will give fans a look at the original drover of Drover’s Run, as well as the building of the farm house.
And while the two stories may seem unrelated at first glance, Posie insisted that the film’s origin storyline influences the present-day story.

‘Stuff gets handed down. It’s actually a ghost story. I love that, and it feels a very natural thing for me to do,’ she teased.
While the script is still at the first draft stage, actress Bridie Carter described it as ‘really exciting’.
Posie didn’t reveal which characters from the beloved TV series would be returning, but she said she’d already spoken with ‘quite a few members of the cast’.

She added that she was hoping to have a second draft of the script written by the end of February, before filming begins in late 2021.
It was revealed in June that the beloved Australian drama would be getting a spin-off, more than 11 years after its final episode.
Posie confirmed the news in an excitable post on her Instagram at the time.

‘THE STORY CONTINUES. Yes – it really does. And I’m letting you know first. We’re developing a feature film,’ she began.
‘It’s called “The McLeods of Drovers Run” and I started writing the story a couple of months ago.’
Posie ‘promised’ to keep fans updated as production on the new project developed, vowing to keep the show’s viewers ‘with us every step of the way’.
