Vicky McClure dons a Santa costume at home with her fiancé Jonny as she sends birthday wishes to her mother
A mutant COVID-19 strain has been detected in Nottingham.
So Vicky McClure decided it was best to stay indoors on Thursday at her Midlands property with fiancé, Jonny Owen.
The actress, 37, rocked a Santa-inspired outfit as she wished a happy birthday to her mother, and a happy Christmas to her Instagram followers.

Vicky gave an effortless smile in a social media snap, her chestnut tresses poked out of her Santa costume while her partner, 49, gave a thumbs up the camera. She wrote on the post: ‘Happy Christmas from us to you. Loads of love xxx.’
In a second upload, the This Is England star was seen lying on grass in an animal print cagoule while her mum lounged nearby at a safe social distance.
Her mother sported a similar short haircut and donned a denim jacket in the throwback pic, which Vicky captioned: ‘Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mum!!! No love like it! Beyond lucky. Love you loads xxxxxxx’.
Last month, Vicky reunited with her fiancé after three months apart while she finished filming the sixth season of Line Of Duty.

The actress took to Instagram to share a sweet snap with her other half in which she hugged him with glee after being away for so long.
Beaming in delight, Vicky couldn’t contain her joy as she snuggled up to Jonny who smiled brightly for the camera.
In her caption, Vicky admitted she hadn’t found it ‘easy’ being away from her partner for so long, but hailed her fellow cast and crew for their hard work on set.
She gushed: ‘Home❣️ 3 months away from home not easy…but we have the BEST crew who’ve kept each other safe, kept spirits high, couldn’t of been on any other job through this. I love you all LOD lot!!!!!’
Vicky put on a casual display in the snap as she wrapped up warm in a fluffy grey jumper, while Jonny wore a black logo t-shirt.

After sharing the adorable picture, Vicky took to her Instagram stories to share a fun video alongside her co-stars Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar.
Dressed in their character’s respective outfits, the trio happily danced together as they announced they had wrapped up the sixth season.
The hotly anticipated sixth series of Line of Duty will arrive by the end of March 2021, the BBC confirmed in November.
Fans of the drama rejoiced at the announcement, which comes two months after filming resumed on the show following a hiatus due to COVID-19.
An exact air date for Line of Duty – which follows the exploits of the Anti Corruption Unit (AC-12) as they root out bent coppers – has not been given.
The sixth series sees the debut of Kelly MacDonald as Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder.
