The Bachelor’s Evan Bass and Carly Waddell split after three years of marriage: ‘We will always cherish our time together’

The Bachelor‘s Evan Bass and Carly Waddell announced their separation after three years of marriage.

The couple released a joint statement to People magazine on Wednesday afternoon detailing their ‘difficult decision to separate.’

Carly and Evan first met and became engaged on Bachelor in Paradise in 2016, and were married in a special episode for the popular dating franchise.

‘We will always cherish our time together and continue to have the utmost respect for one another as we focus on what’s best for the future of our family,’ their statement said. 

‘We greatly appreciate everyone’s love and support and kindly ask that you please respect our family’s privacy as we navigate through this.’

They welcomed son Charlie into the world in November 2019 and also have a two-year-old daughter named Isabella.

Bass, a pioneer in the erectile dysfunction world, also has three sons from a previous marriage, Nathan, Liam and Ensley.

He was first introduced to The Bachelorette world on season 12 with JoJo Fletcher, but she ultimately picked Jordan Rogers and the couple are still engaged. 

Season 12 also introduced a few fan-favorites to Bachelor Nation, including Sarah Hyland’s now fiance, Wells Adams, in addition to Chad Rogers and Robby Hayes.

Carly vied for Chris Soules’ heart on Season 19 of The Bachelor in 2015, but was sent home before hometown dates.

He picked Whitney Bischoff to receive his final rose, with a cast that also included Becca Tilley, Kailtyn Bristowe and Jade Roper. 

Before their wedding in Mexico, Carly told People: ‘It’s been a long journey for me in Bachelor Nation, but I would do it a thousand times again. Because the next part is going to be bliss.’
