Love Island Australia’s Josh Packham reveals terrifying moment he caught ‘furry friend’ in his home

Love Island‘s Josh Packham recently moved back to Sydney’s Northern Beaches. 

And on Thursday, the 27-year-old revealed he had a close encounter with some of the region’s wildlife.    

The hunky reality show winner showed himself capturing and releasing a huntsman on his Instagram, much to the delight of his 141,000 followers. 

‘Seriously all this wet weather in Sydney got a lot of furry friends coming to visit,’ he said, pointing the camera at the spider. ‘You gotta go buddy.’ 

Huntsman spiders are harmless, and they can be a regular occurrence in Australian homes. They are also sometimes referred to as wood spiders. 

Josh then showed himself catching the spider with a plastic container and a piece of paper. 

‘He’s a big b**t**d,’ he said. ‘I’m shaking a little bit. You wouldn’t want to get tagged by those fangs that’s for sure.’ 

He then showed himself releasing the spider back into the wild.

‘Oh, he’s p***ed,’ he said. He then opened the lid and directed the spider back into the woodlands near the property. 

It comes after Josh split from the winner of Love Island, Anna McEvoy. The couple took to Instagram in November to announce their sad news.  

‘It is with great sadness that Josh and I are going out separate ways,’ Anna’s post read.

‘I know that so many of you are invested in our relationship but please know we did everything we could to make it work.

‘It’s extremely difficult to break up with someone who you still love but it is the right thing to do,’ she added.  

While Anna’s post did not offer a reason why the couple had split, Josh’s shed some light on the situation.

‘We have had an amazing journey but unfortunately sometimes relationships don’t work out and two people grow apart,’ he said in a post on his Instagram Stories.
