Hamish Macdonald was overwhelmed by the positive response he received after he publicly came out as gay in June last year.

And on Wednesday, the 39-year-old Q&A host was spotted packing on the PDA with his boyfriend, Jacob Fitzroy, at Coogee Beach in Sydney.

The couple looked more loved-up than ever as they shared a passionate kiss after enjoying an ocean swim.

Hamish enveloped Jacob in a hug, wrapping his arms around his partner’s waist before planting a kiss on his cheek.

The couple were all smiles as they laughed in the gentle surf, then strolled back to their towels on the sand.

Showing off his fit physique, Hamish sported a pair of blue swimming trunks and carried a pair of goggles.

Jacob was similarly dressed in black trunks and also carried a pair of goggles. 

The couple appeared in good spirits as they chatted away while walking back to their beach set-up.

Following their dip, they got changed and headed home.

Once he was dressed, Hamish cut a casual figure in a black and white singlet which he teamed with white shorts and sandals. 

He completed his look with a straw hat and sunglasses, and carried a large tote bag. 

Meanwhile, Jacob opted for a grey singlet and black shorts, and accessorised with sunglasses.

Recalling the event back in May, Hamish, said the move was not deliberate, and the relationship was never secret

Hamish publicly came out as gay in June last year, and later admitted he was overwhelmed by the public’s response. 

In their first public appearance, he held hands with Jacob as they posed for photos by the media wall at GQ’s Gentlemen’s Ball in Melbourne. 

Hamish said the move was not deliberate, and the relationship was never secret.

‘We never anticipated such a response because it was a simple act that wasn’t planned or preconceived,’ he told GQ magazine.

‘The response was overwhelming, but also very surprising and lovely,’ he added.

‘To wake up the next day and see literally thousands of messages from all over the world was at first a shock but ultimately a beautiful thing.’
