And, Kate Lawler took to Instagram on Wednesday to show off her blossoming baby bump alongside a glamorous comparison snap from last Christmas.

The pregnant Big Brother star, 40, joked she ‘looks like Waynetta Slob’ as she relaxed next to her fiancé Martin for the cosy sofa shot.

Writing alongside the photographs, Kate mused: ‘These two photos were taken exactly one year apart! How things have changed… ⁣⁣

‘Every Christmas we take it in turns to treat each other to a super fancy meal in central London, instead of our local Italian or a takeaway curry/pizza. ⁣

‘Last year was my turn and I took the handsome to @frogbyah which I’d heard lots about and my word, it did not disappoint. I can’t wait to go back one day.’⁣

The former BB star then detailed their alternative, writing: ‘This year our annual tradition couldn’t happen so instead, we scoffed leftover veggie chilli on the sofa while watching The Undoing.⁣

‘The Handsome had a glass of red, I stuck to water but it would have been so nice to get dressed up, go for a romantic meal, see the beautiful Christmas lights of London, drink a mocktail and enjoy our tradition while pregnant.⁣

‘There’s always next year though. I think I’m going to make an effort on Christmas Day and put a nice dress on, I’m so bored of looking like Waynetta Slob. ⁣

Counting down her little one’s arrival, the reality TV star wrote: ‘9 weeks to go! 30 weeks pregnant today and knowing that little Nuchky’s arrival is at 39 weeks has made my day.’

Kate detailed: ‘I had a really positive video call with an NHS obstetrician about birth options and we discussed my fear of childbirth along with various facts and figures on both abdominal and spontaneous births.

‘Thankfully she was understanding and told me that with elective abdominal births on the NHS, they’ll book me in for my due date minus 7 days which is February 15th, the day after Valentines Day.

WHAT ARE THE MEDICAL REASONS FOR A CAESAREAN?

There are various reasons why a doctor may recommend that you have a caesarean section instead of giving birth vaginally.

If you had complications in a previous pregnancy or birth, or in your current pregnancy, you may be advised to have what’s called a planned or elective caesarean, or a planned repeat caesarean.

If you were planning to give birth vaginally, but complications during labour or birth mean that you’re advised to give birth by caesarean, you’ll have what’s called an unplanned or emergency caesarean.

Here are some reasons why doctors may opt for a planned or emergency caesarean, rather than a vaginal birth:

You’ve already had at least one caesarean section.
Your baby is in a bottom-down, or breech, position.
Your baby is in a sideways (transverse) position, or keeps changing its position (unstable lie).
You have a low-lying placenta (placenta praevia).
You have a medical condition, such as heart disease or diabetes.
You have lost a baby in the past, either before or during labour.
You’re expecting twins or more.
Your baby is not growing as well as it should be in your womb.
You have severe pre-eclampsia or eclampsia, making it dangerous to delay the birth.

‘Knowing that I can have my baby the way I want to is really going to make this final trimester more enjoyable.’

Admitting she’s still anxious about undergoing the surgical procedure, the presenter said: ‘Don’t get me wrong, the idea of major surgery excites me as much as a baby headbutting it’s way out of my tuppence does, and I’m aware of the recovery time etc.

‘But it’s making me less anxious and more at ease, knowing this is how our little girl will be born.’

The Beckenham native also updated her social media followers on her third trimester as she added: ‘In other news, today I’ve felt like she’s tap dancing on my bladder.

‘Such a strange feeling. I still can’t believe there’s a little human growing inside me and we’ll get to meet her in just nine weeks.

‘I never thought I’d be ready to mother a human as well as doggies but now it’s happening I spend every day hoping it all goes well and that she’s a healthy baby. Is it normal to be worrying so much at this stage?

‘I think because it’s so close, it would be even harder to deal with bad news having built this incredible bond with her over the past 7 months. It’s now my biggest fear. PMA LAWLER! #30weekspregnant.’ (sic)

Last month, the media personality revealed she and her partner are expecting a baby girl.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, Kate explained that they started trying for a baby after their wedding was cancelled and she’s ‘never felt more ready’ to be a mum.

The former Love Island star explained: ‘The wedding got cancelled and I wasn’t thinking about a baby at all.

‘But when we rebooked it for the following year, a few of our friends and family said we could have a baby between now and then.

‘I laughed, but then I turned 40 in May and suddenly I felt grown up and like I was ready for something and I didn’t know what it was.’

Kate, who won the third series of Big Brother back in 2002, got engaged to her boyfriend Martin in 2018.
