Devon Windsor shares candid post about her skin struggles

Devon Windsor has shared an update on her ongoing battle with acne as she admitted it sometimes reduces her to tears when she looks in the mirror.

The model, 26, shared a make-up free picture of herself as she discussed her struggles with her skin on Instagram on Monday afternoon.

Devon has been candid about how she is suffering with acne in recent months and assured fans that models are ‘ very far from perfect’, in her recent post. 

In the image, Devon looked stunning as she swept her blonde hair away from her face and sported a black racer-style top while sitting in her car. 

Penning an update, she wrote: ‘If you have been following me for a while it will come as no surprise to you that I have been struggling with my skin. 

‘I have been very open and honest in my experience in hopes to open a conversation with anyone else out there who may be struggling. I am an open book.’

Revealing that acne can sometimes overwhelm her, she wrote: ‘Acne is no freaking joke. It affects me more than I ever knew possible. I literally will look in the mirror and cry. And you know what? That’s ok. I am human.   

‘People seem to have an idea in their heads that models or myself are perfect, with no flaws or feelings. We all have our issues and are very far from perfect. 

‘I am here to say that no matter what you’re dealing with, or self conscious about, you are still BEAUTIFUL! Coming from someone who had near perfect skin for most of my life. Literally not even a pimple or a pore.  

‘Listen to me when I tell you I understand the frustration and the expectation to be flawless. I do. Stay strong people. And know that you are worth everything and more. AND are more beautiful then a stupid freaking pimple!!’

Last month, Devon revealed she was undergoing some changes in her diet in order to detox her body and combat her acne. 

‘Making a few changes lately! Have a lot going on. I have been experiencing body changes, acne, hormonal imbalance and lots of stress! If you have been following me then I have been giving some updates on all of this! 

‘Yesterday I decided to try to do the whole 30 diet. And while I hate the word ‘diet’ I am not doing this to lose weight in any way. I am going to try to cut back on processed foods, sugars, carbs, and mainly DAIRY. And I LOVE dairy. 

‘My skin and my body has been changing and I feel like cleansing myself from the inside is the best thing for me right now. I also am going to work on being active at least 5 times a week even if it’s just for 10 minutes. 

‘I am listening to my body more then ever lately! Let’s see what happens. I will update you guys throughout the process! PS I am allowing myself cheat days and cheat meals. I believe in allowing myself some things when I have cravings, still trying to live my best life over here! Thanks for all the love, support and suggestions!’ 

Earlier this month Devon celebrated her first wedding anniversary with dashing businessman Jonathan Barbara who co-owns the fashion brand Alexis.

She and her husband got married on St. Bart’s in an extravaganza that according to Harper’s Bazaar went on for three days.

He proposed to her in the Bahamas – and this July she returned there on a getaway with her fellow modeling superstar Olivia Culpo.
