Delta Goodrem shares her non-traditional pavlova recipe, including mint and chocolate

She won’t be returning to The Voice‘s judging panel next year, after the singing competition moved from Channel Seven to the Nine Network.

But losing a prime-time television gig hasn’t stopped Delta Goodrem from having a smile on her face as she celebrates the Christmas holiday.

The singer, 36, looked overjoyed last week as she shared her unique recipe for pavlova, which includes several non-traditional ingredients.

Sweet treat: Delta Goodrem has shared her controversial pavlova recipe – including some very non-traditional ingredients – after quitting The Voice when it moved to Channel Seven

Delta showcased her culinary skills in a YouTube video on Saturday, offering a step-by-step guide to making the Australian festive dessert.

She started with a ready-made pavlova base, which she topped with fresh cream, whipped cream, mango, berries, chocolate and mint from ‘the local park’.

‘When I think of pavlova I think about summer time and I’ve even gone to the local park and picked up a plant of mint that will be our dressing,’ she explained.

‘What I need to do is start whipping this cream because we do need a nice thickened cream… Let’s see if my gym workout the last few days is going to come in handy!’

Pouring the cream on top of the pavlova base, Delta then decorated the dessert with freshly cut mango, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries.

She proceeded to add a ‘good drizzle of passionfruit pulp syrup’.

Delta acknowledged pavlova recipes are different for every family, saying she likes to mix things up a little by adding edible flowers and mint leaves.

‘Just a touch of green here and there. It’s [about] getting into that Australian backyard feeling – that beautiful flora and fauna,’ she said.

Delta then burst into laughter after overfilling the plate with whipped cream, which she had to clean up with her hands.

‘This is beautiful!’ she said with a giggle, before finishing her creation with chocolate shavings.

‘There you go, my friends. If I can do it, you can do it,’ she concluded.

Earlier this month, Channel Seven confirmed Delta wouldn’t be a judge on The Voice, after serving on the panel every year since 2012, with the exception of 2014.

The new panel consists of Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy, Guy Sebastian and Rita Ora.

The Voice is set to air on Seven for the first time in 2021, after Nine failed to renew its contract after broadcasting the show for almost a decade.
