This is the hilarious moment a dog fooled a driver into thinking it had injured its hind legs by dragging them in the dirt and then suddenly jumping up and running around.

San Eang was driving through a village in Banteay Meanchey province, in northwest Cambodia when he saw the stray pooch looking sad and injuried.

Upon seeing the pooch crawling, San Eang and his son began filming and hopped out of the car to approach the helpless pooch.

The clip shows the white dog struggling to drag herself forward across the road using only her front legs, while her hind legs seemed paralysed.

She is slow moving and blocks the way of their car so they stop and get out to help her.

They had hoped to give the female dog proper medical care and take it with them to a nearby vets.

However, as San moved closer, the dog stood up and started walking as if it had been just acting the whole time.

After realising they had been fooled by the stray dog, San Eang and his son burst out laughing.

He said: ‘Right when we thought we could rescue an injured animal, this dog played a tricks on us. What a pity.’

He added that the dog may have only been scratching an itch on its stomach that’s why it was dragging its body in an unusual way.

Eang said: ‘We were almost teary-eyed when we saw the brave dog trying to live despite its injuries.’

The father and son gave the dog some snacks, which it seemed satisfied with and bounded away.
