Tina Fey helped ‘save a man’s life’ when he was stranded in the Hudson River… but ‘he doesn’t know’ it was her

Tina Fey had a hand in saving a man’s life during a family stay-cation near the Hudson River earlier in quarantine.

The 30 Rock star, 50, opened up about how what started out as a relaxing morning turned into drama during an in-studio stop by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night.

‘I saved a man’s life. He doesn’t know but it was us,’ she told the late night host.

Heroic: Tina Fey explained how she literally helped save a man’s life during first family getaway from their NYC apartment as she sat down opposite Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday

During Tina and family’s first outing from their apartment, they decided to get some fresh air by renting a spot near the Hudson River.

‘The first morning, I was standing outside and you could see the Hudson River from where we are and it’s so pretty,’ she said.

But things were only quiet for a bit.

Apparently Tina was enjoying her morning coffee on the porch when she heard faint, undecipherable calls from afar.

After being stuck inside for months the Mean Girls actress said she wasn’t sure if it was a person or a bird, so she enlisted the help of her eldest daughter and then her husband, eventually deciding it was a man.

After telling the exciting story, Tina went on to talk about her new Disney/Pixar film Soul.

According to Pixar the film is about Joe Gardner, a middle school music teacher, who has long dreamed of performing jazz music onstage, and finally gets a chance after impressing other jazz musicians during an opening act at the Half Note Club.

‘However, an untimely accident causes Gardner’s soul to be separated from his body and begin to proceed to the Great Beyond, and Gardner manages to escape to the Great Before, a world where souls develop personalities, quirks, and traits before being sent off to Earth.

‘There, Gardner must work with souls in training at the Great Before, such as 22, a soul with a dim view on the concept of life, in order to return to Earth before his body dies.’

Soul, which also stars Jamie Foxx and Questlove, will be available on Disney+ Christmas Day.
