Rachel Bilson revealed on Wednesday that her beloved dog Thurmen Murmen has died.
The actress, 39, took to Instagram to share snaps of her pet pooch where she told how her ‘first baby’ had passed away aged 15.
Alongside an image of her kissing her dog, the OC star shared her devastation at his loss as she penned: ‘I already miss your bark.’

Rachel also shared a photo of the adorable poodle mix, who she adopted with ex Adam Brody, wrapped up in a blanket.
Captioning the snaps, the Hollywood star penned: ‘My first baby, the sweet but grumpy old man left us today.
‘Thurmen Murmen never thought I’d say this but I already miss your bark. Love you for life sweet baby buddy. #thurmenmurmen #15.’

The post was flooded with several sympathetic comments, including one from actress Mandy Moore who penned: ‘I’m so sorry. 15 years is quite a ride but the loss is a deep one. Sending you love. Xoxox.’
Rachel’s loss comes after she gave a rare insight into co-parenting with her former fiancé Hayden Christensen.
In a new interview, the actress, who dated the screen star, also 39, from 2007 until 2017, revealed raising their six-year-old daughter Briar together has been ‘going well’ during the coronavirus pandemic, three years after their split.

The O.C. alum said: ‘It’s been going pretty well. It’s also nice because you’re stuck in the house [amid the pandemic]. So, for her to have another house to go to, I think that’s actually been helpful. So, all in all, it’s been good.’
The exes started dating in 2007 and got engaged in 2008, before calling it quits two years later.
The thespians rekindled their romance in late 2010 and separated in 2017, but have maintained an amicable relationship ever since their split.
Mother-of-one Rachel also shared that her mini-me is not aware of her father’s portrayal as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
