Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne enjoy a family day of festive fun after her West End debut was cut

She was left devastated when her long-awaited West End debut was cut short.

But Jacqueline Jossa was still in high spirits on Wednesday as she enjoyed a day of family festive fun at Lakeside’s Christmas Wonderland with husband Dan Osborne and their children.

The actress, 28, wrapped up in a cosy pink coat as she went ice skating with her daughters Ella, five, and Mia, two, and Dan’s son Teddy, seven.

Jacqueline beamed as she helped her children skate across the ice, enlisting the help of a penguin to stay upright.

The former EastEnders star got into the Christmas spirit as she showed off her skating skills.

After a trip to the rink, the family headed over to some of the fairground rides to jump on a Ferris wheel, before Dan took little Mia on a merry-go-round.

Dan then headed over to one of the game stalls to win his children a stuffed Husky each, with the family then heading out of the Christmas land to drive home.

Earlier this week Jacqueline’s debut show on the West End was cut short, when London was placed in the highest tier of COVID-19 restrictions.

She had been set to star as Emily in A Christmas Carol at the Dominion Theatre, but just a day after the show’s star-studded press night, the capital entered Tier Three, meaning all theatres would be forced to close.

The new show was a festive stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ famous novel, with Brain Conley taking the lead as Ebenezer Scrooge and Jacqueline Jossa playing a female Ghost of Christmas Future.

Jacqueline is widely known for her TV role as Lauren Branning on EastEnders.

Last month, she shed light on when she moved out of the home she shares with Dan and their two children Ella, five, and Mia, two, earlier this year.

‘It felt like everybody wanted to watch me fall apart,’ the TV star told The Sun. ‘I kept it in for a while, but then over lockdown it was a really good time and place for Daniel and I to go through everything — an opportunity for us to talk through it all.

‘For me, this meant turning to therapy. And because of that, I couldn’t be in the same house as Dan. There was no big argument or bust-up, and there were no other girls. Moving out was literally how I had to deal with it.’

Claiming she needed ‘space’ from her husband, the thespian added: ‘It really, really helped, especially in terms of communication, teaching us how to talk to one another better. Therapy is a really good thing, whether for yourself or for a couple.’

A Christmas Carol was one of the first shows to hit the West End after almost a whole year of shutdown amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Ahead of suspending performances, the show was COVID-safe and socially-distanced, onstage, backstage and front of house, with a large orchestra and a cast of over 50.

The producers plugged the show as ‘a Christmas event to reunite families after the hardest year in living memory’.

It had also been stipulated that those unable to attend due to being unwell or having to isolate will be able to exchange tickets free of charge up to 24 hours before the booked show.

A Christmas Carol is one of the world’s favourite festive stories, penned by Dickens in 1843.
