Gal Gadot reveals her husband and their two kids have brief cameos in Wonder Woman 1984

With just over a week until Wonder Woman 1984 debuts in theaters and on HBO Max on Christmas Day, star Gal Gadot revealed some familial cameos.

The 35-year-old actress was doing press for the superhero sequel with TV journalist Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday, when it was reveald Gadot’s husband, Yaron Varsano, and their kids Alma, 9, and Maya, 2, all have cameos in the sequel

The actress also revealed that her director Patty Jenkins brought in her husband Sam Sheridan and their son for a cameo in the same scene.

Without spoiling things out of context, McCarthy referring to one particular scene as ‘the Christmas scene,’ where he noticed Gadot’s family in the scene.

When asked what it meant to her to have her husband, who she’s been married to since 2008, and children in the film, Gadot began by saying, ‘It meant a lot.’

‘I have two daughters, both of them appear, the oldest appeared with Ace, Patty’s son, and then my youngest one, with whom I was pregnant with during the reshoots for Wonder Woman, the first one, was there with my husband,’ Gadot added.

The actress continued that the sequel was ‘more than just a movie, for us, for me, for Patty, it completely changed my life.’

Gadot said that there was so much ‘labor and thought and emotions that we put into the movie,’ and she couldn’t have done the movie without her, ‘amazing family.’

‘To have them captured in the film with me, because they are a part of it, meant a lot, and it’s an amazing, amazing souvenir that we will forever cherish,’ Gadot added.

While most films have either been shunted to streaming services or pushed into 2021, Wonder Woman 1984 will get the best of both worlds.

WarnerMedia announced earlier this month that Wonder Woman 1984 will be released both in theaters and on their HBO Max streaming service on Christmas Day.

Just days later, the studio announced that all of their 2021 movies – 17 in total – will also be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max.

While there are areas where theaters are open across the country, major markets like Los Angeles have had theaters closed since March. 

Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins’ first collaboration, 2017’s Wonder Woman, earned $421.7 million at the domestic box office and $822.1 million worldwide, from a $149 million budget.
