‘We’ve all coped differently’: TV presenter Livinia Nixon admits she hides from her children in the laundry room to get some peace and quiet

There’s no denying the Covid-19 lockdowns were tough on mothers everywhere.

And it was no different for TV presenter Livinia Nixon, who would hide from her own children in the laundry room to ‘have some space’.

In a blog for nine.com.au, the Getaway host, 45, explained that while some moments during the pandemic ‘were delightful’, others ended in tears.

‘We’ve all coped differently and we’ve all managed the stress in different ways,’ she wrote.

‘Some moments were delightful (cooking with the kids, lying in the park and watching the clouds drift by).

‘Other days involved hiding in the laundry to have some space, or watching my kids cry after telling them that after months of confinement, the lockdown was to be extended.’

Earlier this year, Livinia revealed how her family were keeping themselves occupied during the Covid-19 lockdown.

She said that reading books was like a ‘lifeline to sanity’ during those tough months.

‘I’ve always escaped into books, but now they’ve become a lifeline to sanity for me,’ she told nine.com.au at the time.

Documentaries were also a great distraction for the kids when they couldn’t get out the house.

‘I’m trying to watch more nature/space/animal docos with the kids,’ she said.

‘If we can’t get out and explore our beautiful world, then docos are the perfect way to travel… from our couch.’
