Braunwyn Windham-Burke shuts down Kelly Dodd’s accusations she was placed in a 5150 hold: ‘That’s a lie’

RHOC star Braunwyn Windham-Burke has hit back at allegations made by Kelly Dodd that she was placed in a 5150 hold.

Dodd, 45, claimed in a since-deleted tweet that Windham-Burke had been placed in a 5150 psychiatric hold, which enables mentally ill people who are classified as a danger to themselves or others be taken in against their will for a 72 hour evaluation.

‘I am not going to be blamed for her mental disorders, alcoholism, cheating, violence, & her children being depressed. She’s been placed in a 5150 hold,’ Dodd recently tweeted, according to Page Six.

But Windham-Burke denied she had been put in a 5150 hold in a video posted to her Instagram Stories, where she called the allegations a ‘lie’.

‘Good morning. So once again, I’m waking up, reading some stuff and honestly, there’s certain people I work with that I’m shocked how much they get away with. How many lies they’re allowed to tell — how it seems like nothing really happens,’ she said.

Windham-Burke admitted she had checked herself in for help 10 years ago, and defended those suffering from mental illness.

‘I just want to clear something up. I’ve never been on a 5150 hold,’ she said. ‘That’s a lie. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. You know, when I needed help 10 years ago, I checked myself in.

‘So that’s a different situation. But, 5150 holds are good for people who need them. There’s no shame in that. There’s no shame in mental health issues.’

This is certainly not the first time Dodd has been critical of Windham-Burke.

Earlier this month, Dodd accused her of faking her alcoholism for show.

The star made the shocking allegation when asked if she regretted her lack of sensitivity towards Windham-Burke and her challenges with sobriety.

‘I don’t regret it because I think that her whole sobriety thing is contrived and I think it’s fake,’ she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

‘I don’t think that she had seven kids so she could “not drink” and I know her well enough that this was a pre-plotted thing that she wanted to do to get her own show,’ she said. ‘She wanted to get her own show, her talent agent told her to stop drinking. It’s all contrived. I don’t believe that she is a real alcoholic, no.’

Windham-Burke also made headlines earlier this month after coming out as lesbian, making her the first gay Real Housewife.

The star plans on staying married to her husband Sean Burke, but is also currently dating a woman.
