Strictly’s Bill Bailey struggles to get off the floor and Janette Manrara gives HRVY a playful smack

The pressure is on to perform when they take to the dance floor every Saturday evening with their partners.

But this year’s crop of Strictly Come Dancing stars still found time to enjoy themselves during rehearsals as a hilarious clip of some of their mishaps was shared on the show’s Twitter account.

He may have sailed through to the final, but Bill Bailey did struggle to come to grips with his dance moves as he was unable to get up off the floor in one hilarious clip.

His partner Oti Mabuse also strapped the comedian, 55, into what he called a ‘shame frame’ to help him keep good posture for his dances.

He said: ‘What would happen in the village, if someone danced in an inappropriate way with a lady, they would be made to wear this. It’s called the shame frame.’

Taking no nonsense, Oti could be heard off camera shouting: ‘Lift your frame up! Hold! Lift!’

In another clip, dancer Janette Manrara gave HRVY a hard slap on the chest after he executed a move perfectly.

‘There you go!’ she shouted as the YouTuber winced in pain.

Meanwhile, Jacqui Smith also seemed to be having posture problems when learning one of her dances with partner Anton du Beke.

She said: ‘I need to push the appropriate boob forward. Is that a technical term? Boob push.’

Laughing, Anton replied: ‘It’s absolutely perfect.’

In another clip, Jacqui grew so frustrated with her giant feathers that she threw them on the floor in frustration.

‘I think she’s kicking off,’ Anton said, looking into the camera.

Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer previously said they had a developed a brother-sister relationship on the show which was clear from their rehearsals.

Karen grew increasingly frustrated with the Made In Chelsea star as he kept trying to do a hand stand while she was teaching him a routine.

Elsewhere, Katya Jones got more than she bargained for in rehearsals with Nicola Adams as the boxer let herself fall to the floor and roll around while Katya tried to spin her.

In another behind the scenes moment, Caroline Quentin joked about struggling to come to grips with her moves as she told partner Johannes Radebe: ‘When you look down on me it’s like, “there’s a small grey bit of fluff down there and it doesn’t know any dance steps”‘.

It comes after Ranvir Singh became the latest celebrity to be sent home on Sunday night, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.

Her departure from the show means that the line-up for the highly anticipated final includes HRVY, Maisie Smith, Bill and Jamie.

When asked by Strictly host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Ranvir said: ‘I’m just really sorry for him [Giovanni], he’s worked so hard and been in so many finals that I’m really sorry I couldn’t do it for you. Sorry.’

Giovanni responded: ‘You don’t have to be sorry at all, we’ve both worked very hard, you’ve been an absolute dream to work with. You are a true hero, your job at 3 o’clock in the morning then you come in the room and dance with me.

‘More than anything, you’ve grown as a person and this for me is the most rewarding thing that I could ask for, so well done to you. Well done.’

Strictly Come Dancing’s grand finale airs on Saturday from 6pm on BBC One.
