A host of stars have flooded social media with support following Jesy Nelson‘s announcement that she has permanently quit Little Mix.
Following the release of her statement on Monday evening, the songstress, 29, was met with a slew of loving messages from both stars and fans, with Dermot O’Leary, Lauren Pope and Stacey Solomon paying tribute.
In her heartfelt statement, Jesy revealed she wants to focus on things that make her ‘happy’ and also emotionally said that being in the band had ‘taken a toll on her mental health’ and that she finds the ‘constant pressure very hard’.
Little Mix also took to Instagram to share the news as they admitted it was an ‘incredibly sad time’ for the band but they ‘fully support’ Jesy’s decision, and plan to continue in her absence.

Leading the tributes was Dermot, who hosted The X Factor when the girls found fame in 2011, reached out to say: ‘Big love Jesy x’. Stacey simply wrote: ‘Love u’, alongside a black heart emoji in her touching tribute.
Having suffered her own mental health problems during her time in The Saturdays, Frankie Bridge reached out to say: ‘So brave of you. Xx’
Other stars included Lauren Pope, who wrote: ‘Lots of love, health always comes first’, while Fellow X Factor alums Raksu penned: ‘Look after yourself girl’.

The official Twitter account for BBC Three, where her award-winning documentary Odd One Out was aired, shared the simple statement: ‘We love you’.
Actovost Gina Martin, who made upskirting illegal and changed Instagram policy, reached out to write: ‘This must have been such a torturous decision to make, and with so much pressure from a million different angles….
‘But in being so honest and announcing it you’re showing millions of people what it means to choose your own health and happiness. I hope the space brings you joy and calm. Good luck’.

The band – made up of Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – also confirmed that they would be remaining as a trio.
Last month, Little Mix’s representative announced Jesy would be taking an ‘extended break’ from the band due to ‘private medical reasons.’ Jesy has been a member of the band since their formation on The X Factor in 2011.
Jesy wrote on Monday night: ‘To all my Mixers, the past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life. We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold out shows at the O2.
‘Making friends and fans all over the world I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never ever forget it.

‘The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.
‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.
‘So after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I’m announcing I’m leaving Little Mix.’

Jesy emotionally added: ‘I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy. I’m ready to embark on a new chapter in my life – I’m not sure what it’s going to look like right now, but I hope you’ll still be there to support.
‘I want to say thank you to everyone involved in our journey. All the hard work and dedication that went into making us a success.
‘To every single fan who came to see us in concert, who listened to our songs and sung their hearts out, sent me messages and supported me along the way I want you to know I love you all so much and I could never have done this without you and I appreciate it endlessly.
‘Most of all I want to say thank you to Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most amazing memories I’ll never forget. I hope that you’ll continue to fulfil all of your dreams and keep on making music that people love. Love Jesy x.’
