Jack Whitehall’s father Michael, 80, praises ‘wonderful’ NHS as he’s given the coronavirus vaccine… and makes a VERY cheeky joke about his son

Jack Whitehall’s father Michael has revealed he’s had the coronavirus vaccine.

The TV producer, 80, took to Twitter to share a snap of himself having the first of two jabs at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust on Sunday.

Never one to miss an opportunity to lovingly joke about his son, Michael also shared a very cheeky joke aimed at the comedian as he posted the news on social media.

Michael penned: ‘Here was I worrying about a little pr**k, no, not @jackwhitehall, which was brilliantly organised by @GSTTnhs.

‘Thank you to all the kind and wonderful NHS staff who administered my COVID-19 vaccine last night. See you for little pr**k No 2 in January.’

The 80-year-old appeard to be in good spirits in the snap and ensured to maintain his usual dapper appearance in a crisp white shirt and suit trousers.

Michael can be seen sitting in a chair at the vaccination centre as a nurse rolls up his sleeves and gives him the injection.

The vaccine started being rolled out last week with people 80 and over, workers in care homes and NHS staff among the first to get it.

It is given in two stages, with patients having to have a second jab within 21 days of receiving their first.

Michael and Jack are known for their constant banter, with the father often using the size of his son’s manhood as material for their comedy shows.

Back in October Jack expressed frustration at his father’s constant jokes on the subject during their joint interview on The Sunday Project.

The British comedian claimed the 80-year-old was doing a ‘great disservice’ to him with his less than favourable remarks about his certain body part.

Discussing the fourth season of Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, host Tommy Little asked: ‘It’s a family show for you guys, but were you surprised the amount of times your father brings up the size of your manhood?’

Jack responded: ‘Yes, I am. I remain surprised, and it has become his favourite recurring joke, and there is no environment, no audience, that he will not try and talk about that in front of.

‘He is doing me a great disservice, and it’s all lies and fabrication and him having a dig.’

Michael bewilderingly replied: ‘I think you’re being very unfair. I’m just being honest!’

The fourth season of Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father was filmed before the coronavirus pandemic forced the world into lockdown.

Jack also met his girlfriend Roxy Horner, 29, while in Australia with the pair deciding to move into his London pad for lockdown after just weeks of dating.

Jack admitted that while the decision definitely ‘accelerated’ their romance, they missed out on doing ordinary things like restaurant and cinema dates.

He told the Couples Quarantine podcast: ‘Weirdly that was quite nice because we spent a lot of time together and it accelerates the relationship in a way.

‘Then when lockdown ended, there’s a lot of things we realised. We’d never gone out to see a film together. We’d never been to a restaurant in England because we met in Australia.’
