AFL couple Garry Lyon and Nicky Brownless make a $200,000 profit as they sell their Melbourne love nest for $3.37million

Garry Lyon and Nicky Brownless have sold their home in Armadale, Melbourne, for a tidy profit after just a few weeks on the market.

The couple, who bought the four-bedroom Federation-era property for $3.18million in 2018, listed it for sale last month and didn’t have to wait long to find a buyer.

The house had a price guide of $3million to $3.3million, but sold at auction on Saturday for $3.37million – $200,000 more than what they originally paid for it.

According to Realestate.com.au, three bidders competed for the two-storey home.

Marshall White’s Chris Barrett said the price was ‘about right’ for the market and ‘well-located homes [were] always going to be in demand’.

‘With the lowest interest rates on record, there are more buyers than sellers,’ Mr Barrett added.

The property features sleek interiors, a modern kitchen with granite benches, several living areas and a master bedroom with a large walk-in wardrobe and en suite.

Garry controversially went public with Nicky, who is the ex-wife of his close friend and former Footy Show co-host Billy Brownless, in 2016.

Following the initially flurry of negative headlines, the pair have kept a relatively low profile and are rarely pictured out and about together.

Garry blindsided Billy four years ago by starting a relationship with his wife of 18 years, just 12 months after they separated.

A month after the scandal made headlines, the Geelong legend revealed how the affair had impacted his family, stating ‘a good mate wouldn’t do that’.

Billy also sensationally confessed that Garry and Nicky’s secret relationship could have been going on for up to four years.

‘I couldn’t believe it. I found out three or four months ago. I asked Garry and Nicky earlier on what is going on and they said they were just good friends. That’s what hurts the most,’ he said on The AFL Footy Show.

‘By law it’s legal; morally it’s wrong. We all know our rights and wrongs. You don’t touch a man’s wallet; you don’t touch his wife.’

In September this year, Billy revealed the two men had settled their differences.

Billy told the You Cannot Be Serious podcast that he was in a ‘good spot’ with both his ex-wife and Garry, but admitted the process of reconciliation had ‘taken time’.
