Strictly’s Ranvir Singh has lost so much weight on show she is wearing costumes for pro dancers

Ranvir Singh has revealed she has lost so much weight on Strictly Come Dancing, she’s now wearing outfits made for the professional dancers.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 43, lost half a stone before she even started the competition and has continued to shed the pounds each week.

Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: ‘My body has definitely changed. It’s hard work doing Strictly and my body has responded to that.

‘I feel much trimmer and better in myself. It has been incredible. The dress I am wearing this weekend is one that was made for one of the professionals. That’s amazing for me.’

‘They push their bodies through. Even if they haven’t eaten or they have a lack of sleep, they push themselves. It is remarkable.’

Ranvir added that she thinks the professional dancers’ motivation has rubbed off on her and has made her realise she can push herself harder than ever before.

The TV presenter previously opened up to her GMB co-hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about going on a diet before the show started.

She said: ‘Shall I tell you the truth? I weighed meself this morning. Are you saying I look slimmer?

‘I weighed myself and I’ve lost half a stone. Don’t follow this rule, but I am so scared I can’t eat.

‘Because I think if I eat I’m going to be sick. I’m eating lots of fruit and stuff. But the poor fella has got to lug me around I feel sorry for him.’

It comes after Kate Garraway made a special video praising Ranvir, which aired during the show’s live semi-final on Saturday.

The TV presenter, 53, has been focused on her family amid her husband Derek Draper’s battle with coronavirus, but she took a moment out of her day to show her support for her friend and GMB c-star.

Ranvir was noticeably moved while watching the heartfelt clip, which was shown after she completed the Waltz with professional dance partner, Giovanni Pernice.

Kate said: ‘Ranvir, the semi finals? This is unbelievable, I mean it’s not though, is it, because you are unbelievable.

‘It’s just so fantastic watching you, you are amazing, we all know you are amazing and now the world knows it too.

‘It’s just brilliant, good luck, hope you get to the final but whatever happens you are the absolute winner of this series.’

Overcome with emotion, Ranvir responded: ‘We all know what she is going through, she typifies what everyone is going through this year.

‘Actually it’s so wonderful that she found the time to think of me. That is her all over, so thank you so much to Kate, that meant so much.’

Kate’s husband, 53, has been in hospital since March after contracting COVID and while there have been small improvements to his health, Kate has said he has a long road ahead.

As well as looking after children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 11, Kate has been busy with her Good Morning Britain and Smooth FM radio commitments.

The family had been unable to visit Derek in hospital due to coronavirus restrictions, but Kate has said nurses kindly allowed her to FaceTime him.

Meanwhile Ranvir is single, but she has been at the centre of romance rumours with her dance partner, 30, with head judge Shirley Ballas commenting on their ‘chemistry’.

The duo did little to stop the speculation on last Saturday’s show as Giovanni was heard calling her ‘baby’ during their Viennese Waltz.

On Friday, the professional dancer added more fuel to the romance fire as he confirmed Ranvir is using a picture of them together on her WhatsApp.

He made the revelation as he shared a screenshot to Twitter on Friday of a late-night text he received from the GMB presenter.
