Liev, who plays Colonel Richard Cantwell in the film, sported a neatly-trimmed moustache and wore a pair of round glasses as he fully embodied the character.

In between takes, he put safety first amid the Covid-19 pandemic, wearing a white mask as he wandered down the streets of the Italian city alongside crew members.

While speeding down the river on a boat during shooting, the actor was also joined by two crew members, who kept themselves protected with face masks.

Liev’s latest film is set during the final days of WWII and sees his character grapple with physical and emotional damage from the previous war, as well as a whirlwind romance with a younger woman.
