Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield denies she’s dating Danny Clayton and slams trolls who claim she staged loved-up photos of the pair ‘for attention’

Abbie Chatfield sparked rumours that she’s dating Danny Clayton after she uploaded a series of loved-up photos of the pair to Instagram. 

But on Friday, the former Bachelor star insisted the pair are just friends in a series of Instagram Stories – and slammed trolls who say she uploaded the loved-up snaps ‘for attention’. 

In a series of videos, the 25-year-old explained that she never called the Channel [V] personality, 34, her boyfriend on social media.

‘Everyone Danny is not my boyfriend just an FYI,’ she said.  ‘I uploaded a photo of him at an event together. Like, I called him my boyfriend, where?’  

The reality star then went on to slam trolls who claimed she had deliberately sought to invite rumours about her love life and attract attention by posting the loved-up photos. 

Abbie shared direct messages she had gotten from a troll on Instagram, who said she ‘knew what she was doing’ in sharing the images, and proceeded to call her vile names.

‘Screaming right now. People are in my DMs getting mad at me. Someone called me an “attention seeking w***e” because I knew what I was doing,’ she said. 

‘Like no bro, I have been hanging out with Danny, so I upload things with Danny. How was I supposed to know there would be articles saying he’s my boyfriend.’    

Abbie also said that even if they were dating, people ‘don’t have a right to know’ what is going on with her love life.

The rumour mill went into overdrive after Abbie shared several photos of herself and Danny at a friends wedding earlier this month.  

In one photo, she sweetly rested her head on Danny’s chest, and in another, she made a tongue-in-cheek reference to her time on The Bachelor. 

Thar photo showed Danny handing her a red rose, and she captioned it: ‘The final rose.’

Abbie also admitted to having a childhood crush on Danny in another post.

The duo were first pictured together in July in Bondi. A few weeks later, Danny appeared on Abbie’s podcast to discuss the outing in detail.

Outside of her love life, Abbie is focused on writing her first book.

The book, titled ‘SLUT (So Let’s Unpack That)’, is described as an entry-level guide to feminism for young women.
