A Sunburnt Christmas is now available to stream on Stan, and to celebrate the cast were out in full force at the world premiere in Sydney on Thursday.

And the stars of the movie, including director Christiaan Van Vuuren and Sullivan Stapleton all agreed that the sun-drenched Aussie movie could ‘pave the way’ for more festive films to be created Down Under in future.

One big Aussie family! The cast of A Sunburnt Christmas – including Bondi Hipster Christiaan Van Vuuren and Sullivan Stapleton – said they hope the movie will ‘pave the way’ for more Australian festive films as they attended the world premiere in Sydney on Thursday night

‘It was such a privilege to work on the film. And hopefully, it’s a Christmas present to Aussies, who have had a pretty hard year.’

A Sunburnt Christmas is one of the only festive movies filmed in the sunny setting of South Australia, with others – including Elf, Bat Santa and The Holiday – set in snowy locations around the US and UK.

The film sees the lives of a struggling single mum (Ling Cooper Tang) and her children turned upside down when a stranger dressed as Santa Claus (Daniel Henshall) crashes into their farm.

Tricking two youngsters, Daisy (Lena Nankivell) and Tom (Eaden McGuinness), into believing he is really Santa, he ropes them into helping him find a bag of money – all the while being chased by mobster Dingo (Sullivan Stapleton).
