Kelvin Fletcher blasted for poking his wife while she drove their car by road safety charity

‘It’s selfish and dangerous!’ Kelvin Fletcher is blasted for poking his wife with a novelty boxing glove while she drove their car by road safety charity

Kelvin Fletcher has come under fire after sharing a now-deleted video of himself poking his wife with a novelty boxing glove while she drove a car.

The former Emmerdale star, 36, has been branded ‘selfish’ by a road safety charity prodding his wife Eliza Marsland while she was at the wheel, during a family day out.

Kelvin also playfully jabbed his wife with the comedy glove while walking down the street – where they were joined by their daughter Marnie.

Road safety charity, Brake, told the Sun: ‘Even a moment’s distraction from the road ahead can result in catastrophe.

‘Passengers must do all they can to allow a driver’s concentration to remain on the road and certainly never purposefully cause a distraction.

‘Such behaviour, as shown in this video, is selfish and dangerous.’

MailOnline have reached out to representatives for comment.

In October, Kelvin made a spectacular return to Strictly Come Dancing to perform with his professional partner Oti Mabuse in a socially-distanced routine.

The pair were crowned series champions last year, after the screen star stepped in at the last minute to replace injured Jamie Laing.

Like all couples on the series, The Sun reported the pair had been isolating in their own bubble and the producers have enforced strict rules so Oti does not catch the virus and pass it to her celebrity partner for the latest competition.

Ahead of the performance, a show source told the publication: ‘Kelvin and Oti can’t get anywhere near as close as they are used to because of the danger of infection, which would throw a huge spanner in the works.

‘But viewers will be intrigued to see how it will work. The show’s creative team have all sorts of tricks up their sleeve.

‘These include potentially using a perspex screen between the dancers, as on some of Strictly’s counterparts in other countries.’

They were engaged in 2015, after Kelvin proposed on the beach during a romantic trip to Wales.

There were reports of marital strife during his Strictly stint, after he was pictured enjoying a late night drink with Oti.

Despite unfollowing her other half the next day, Liz insisted there was ‘no drama’ between them, as they put on a united front.
