And Catherine-Zeta Jones shared a touching tribute to her late father-in-law on her Instagram to mark the Hollywood legend’s birthday on Wednesday.
The Welsh actress, 51, posted a sweet throwback snap with Kirk, who died at age 103 on February 5 this year, as she commemorated his first birthday since passing away.

The black-and-white snap saw Kirk planting a kiss on his daughter-in-law’s cheek as Catherine leaned over his chair with her eyes closed.
Alongside the snap, the Chicago star penned: ‘Missing you every day. Happy birthday Pappy’
Her husband Michael, 76, also shared a loving tribute to his late father on his Instagram, thanking him for ‘always giving the best advice’.
The Basic Instinct actor shared a slideshow of throwback snaps of himself and his father over the years as he marked the silver screen legend’s birthday.

He gushed: ‘Happy Birthday Dad! I miss you and thank you for always giving the best advice! Love, Michael’
Michael, who is Kirk’s eldest child, also revealed that the best advice his father gave him was to do things ‘to the best of your ability’ and ‘don’t look back’ afterwards.
In a voiceover alongside the slideshow, he explained: ‘The best advice my father gave me was, whatever you do, you do it to the best of your ability.
‘You leave that job knowing that you couldn’t have done any more. And then screw it, walk away. You’ve done the best, don’t look back.’
Kirk, who died on February 5, 2020, had two sons, Michael and Joel, 73, with his first wife Diana Dill before divorcing in 1951.

The well-known Lothario married Anne Buydens three years later, and they had two sons, Peter, 65, and Eric, who died from an accidental overdose at age 46 in 2004.
Kirk’s eldest son Michael married Catherine, who is exactly 25 years younger than him, as they were born on the same date, back in 2000.
The couple announced their engagement in December 1999 before marrying at New York’s Plaza Hotel, after Michael finalised his divorce from first wife Diandra Luker.
Michael and Catherine, who marked their 20th anniversary last month, have two children together – son Dylan 20, and daughter Carys, 17.
