A source told The Mirror: ‘Alesha is awarded the CBE for her services to music – in that she is retiring.

‘Amanda is given an OBE for her environmental efforts – as she always ensures her dresses use a quarter of the normal amount of fabric.

‘And Ashley Banjo is made MBE for his charity work for the elderly and infirm for the way in which he has stepped in for Simon Cowell. No one emerges unscathed – it’s very funny indeed.’

Sharing a snap of himself in drag dress as Queen Elizabeth II to Instagram, David promoted the show, stating alongside: The @bgt Christmas Special @itv 8pm Christmas Day.’
