Shane Warne drops the price on his $6.8M Brighton home by $1 MILLION after failing to sell it at auction

Shane Warne failed to auction off his Brighton, Melbourne home on Saturday, with bidding reaching a $5.65 million – well short of the guide price.

The former cricketer had hoped for between $5.8 million to $6.38 million for the home, which cost him $5.4 million in 2018.

Now he’s dropped the price by a whopping $1 million – accepting offers over $5.8 million, after originally asking for $6.8 million to $7.4 million in March.

According to Domain, the auction, was held outdoors next to the swimming pool and the opening bid was $5.5 million.

Agent Jonathan Dixon of JP Dixon Real Estate told the website that he hoped a sale would be made in the afternoon despite the early result.

However, negotiations with a potential buyer did not reap the wanted result.

Despite a handful of famous faces at the auction, those most interested in the property were ‘local people’ he went on to say.

Shane was not seen outside the property on auction day, however, he was spotted peeking through the curtains.

His son, SAS Australia star son Jackson Warne, 21, came along to offer his support, arriving in a black SUV.
