And on the most recent episode of Total Bellas, the engaged couple took a proactive approach to parenting as they discussed how they would co-parent in the event of a split.
‘Me and you, at the end, of the day want the best life for Matteo no matter what. He’s the focus,’ insisted Nikki, following the responsible discussion.

At the start, Artem suggested that because Nikki ‘travels so much’ he feels that he has ‘more chances of having the kid,’ which makes him an ideal primary caregiver.
He continued: ‘You’re always busy, so I think I’ll probably be more suitable. It’s OK. You can see him on the weekends, it’s fine.’
Referencing to Artem’s Dancing With The Stars gig, Nikki wondered how he would be able to take care of Matteo if he is ‘dancing’ for an entire season on the hit ABC celebrity competition series.
‘But what if you’re dancing and you’re in season and then you’re on tour? What, is he gonna be dancing on stage with you? … Artem, we definitely have a lot to figure out,’ said the former professional wrestler.

Seeing his fiancee’s point, Chigvintsev acknowledged that him and his fiancee, both, only want to ‘do what’s best for the kid.’
During a recent appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Nikko, who got engaged to Artem last year, confirmed that her and the Dancing With The Stars pro plan to attend couples therapy.
‘We’re going to start [therapy] after the season and it’s mainly just to be amazing parents and knowing how to balance parent life out and also our own relationship,’ she explained.
