Simone had previously put her heart on the line by marrying a complete stranger in the name of love on Nine’s MAFS following five years of being single.

‘If someone had told me then that I’d still be still single five years on, after countless number of dates and numerous heartbreaks, I honestly don’t think I would have got through it. The thought of further rejection and heartbreak would have seemed like too much to handle,’ she reflected on Instagram in mid 2017.

Despite appearing smitten on screen at the time with her ‘TV husband’, things were not all they seemed and Simone was painted as the ‘villain’ when she chose to walk away from Xavier during the final episode of their season.

In an honest blog post on her site The Dating Journal in 2017, she claimed: ‘Week two, day three, of the five-week experiment, while folding a pile of bathroom towels during a filming break, he said to me, and I quote, “I’m just not that into it”…Needless to say, it just snowballed from there.’

In 2017, Simone said her heart was ‘filled with happiness’ and was ready to move on from Sydney and the heartbreak she experienced there.

In a post at the time, she wrote: ‘Today I accepted a new job in Melbourne. A fresh start in a new city… Time heals all wounds, and sometimes it just takes more time than you’d like. Give it time x’

It appears she met her new partner in Melbourne, and they are now preparing to start their family together in Victoria.
