Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld film upcoming Disney+’s Hawkeye series in New York City

Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld have been spotted filming for their upcoming  Disney+ series, set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all week in New York City.

And, on Saturday, the Hawkeye costars shot Christmas scenes with bruised makeup as they walked past a man dressed as Santa Claus amid the holiday season.

While the 49-year-old actor’s fake injuries were reserved to a small laceration on his forehead, Steinfeld’s looked like she had been violently struck on her face.

On her left cheek, her character, Kate Bishop, was punched hard enough to cause dark bruising and swelling.

Despite her on-screen battery, Steinfeld put on stylish display in a long black and grey houndstooth trench coat, combat boots and patterned trousers.

Meanwhile, Renner bundled up in a brown jacket, matching loafers and jeans.

Between scenes, the duo were seen rocking additional layers over their clothing on the partly cloudy day, as temperatures continue to cool on the East Coast.

The melting piles of snow by the street appeared to be artificial as the actors walked by trees, adorned with twinkly lights, and a camera crew capturing their stroll.

Their conversation appeared light-hearted, as evidenced by Renner looking over at the Oscar nominee with a sweet smile.

Working hard: Renner and Steinfeld have been spotted filming for their upcoming Disney+ series, set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all week in New York City

Despite their extra jackets, they both kept their hands in their pockets to provide a much-needed extra source of warmth.

On Wednesday, Hailee was seen filming for the first time alongside Renner, who has played the superhero Hawkeye and his alter ego Clint Barton for nearly a decade.

The Hollywood heartthrob has continued to play the character, including in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which became the highest-grossing film of all time.

The plot of the series revolves around Kate taking on the mantle of the superhero, presumably being trained by Clint.

During their shoot day, the stars were joined by a pooch who was presumably playing Lucky The Pizza Dog.

Lucky The Pizza Dog is Hawkeye’s canine sidekick, who has been featured in the Marvel comic books since 2012.

During the scene, both Clint and Kate appeared to be out of superhero mode, as they were in regular New York City clothes.

Her character, Kate, debuted in April 2005 with the first issue of the Young Avengers comic book series created by Jim Cheung and Allan Heinberg.

Her inclusion in the upcoming Disney+ show has added grist to the rumor mill that there may be a Young Avengers series in the offing.

That, plus the eventuality of an all-female Avengers film at some point in the future.

Hawkeye, which is due out either late next year or near the start of 2022, is one of several Marvel spin-off series percolating at Disney+.

Tom Hiddleston will be reprising his movie role as Thor’s brother Loki in his own show which is expected to be out sometime early next year.

Additionally, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will appear in the highly anticipated show WandaVision, also starring Kathryn Hahn.
