Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze are going to have to buy some new dog toys.

The pooches are twin Akitas from the same litter, and are both 8 weeks old, as noted in Gellar’s post.

The Buffy The Vampire Slayer star’s caption for the photo read: ‘Welcome to the family Kumi and Sato…Be prepared for lots of doggie spam from me because they are beyond cute (and also because I won’t be going anywhere for awhile).’

Some of the photos depicted the puppies playing with a plastic ball, and another showed the litter-mates hanging out with their new mom.

Prinze also posted a video depicting the adorable Akitas having their first tug-of-war with a red plastic ring while relaxing on some grass.

Both of the actors used the hashtag #akitasofinstagram for all of their doggie posts.

The couple first met on the set of the 1997 slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer, where both actors were featured in supporting roles.

The two became engaged in 2001 and were married the year afterwards in a ceremony officiated by Adam Shankman, who had worked with Gellar during her time portraying Buffy Summers.

The pair have worked together in several movies, notably portraying Fred Jones and Daphne Blake in the 2002 comedy film Scooby-Doo and its 2004 sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Fair warning: Gellar warned her Instagram followers that they would be seeing a lot more of the new family members, stating 'Be prepared for lots of doggie spam from me'

Gellar and Prinze have also lent their voices to the 2007 animated comedy Happily N’ever After and the sci-fi television series Star Wars Rebels.

The two currently share an eleven-year-old daughter named Charlotte, and an eight-year-old son named Rocky.

While the two have largely stepped back from their careers in order to raise their children, Prinze has received critical acclaim for his voice acting in the aforementioned television series.

He reprised his role in a brief cameo during the final act of the 2019 epic Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where his voice could be heard among the actors of other past Jedi, including Liam Neeson and Samuel L. Jackson.
