Speaking on Channel Seven’s Sunrise, Grant said: ‘He is just a gorgeous little thing. And the relationship I have with Charlene [is different] and the sense of support we have for one another.’

Grant went on to say: ‘She is a very calming person which is good for my personality because I’m very driven and ambitious.’

‘So to come home to someone who really balances it out for me and then to have a baby Edward.’

He also has two other children, twins Charlize Alley and Jagger Emilio, 11, from his previous relationship with Neighbours star, Candice Alley.

Meanwhile, Grant recently revealed that his mother, Margaret, overcame cancer before falling pregnant with him.

As reported by The Courier Mail , Grant told the Stav, Abby & Matt radio show that there was a six-year-gap between himself and his brother Craig, 46, because his mum, now 75, fell ill before Grant was born.

‘That was the reason that there was such a big gap (between children). Originally it was going to be two years, but she had cancer,’ he said.

In fact, the swimmer’s mother was told she was unlikely to have more children due to the diagnosis.

‘It was kind of one of those things where they said mum actually couldn’t fall pregnant again or anything like that. Then it came around and here I am today.

‘Thank goodness it all happened. It’s a story I’ve actually never shared before,’ he added.
