Lisa George has revealed that she was left ‘half-blind’ in one eye after she suffered a mini-stroke four years ago.
The Coronation Street star, 47, who plays Beth Tinker on the cobbles, said that she ‘haemorrhaged’ behind her optic nerve after she got hit with a rope.
Lisa explained that doctors think she suffered a mini-stroke but a specialist has said it is due to her accident with the actress still not knowing what exactly happened.

The soap star told The Sun: ‘I haemorrhaged behind my optic nerve four years ago and I’m half-blind in my right eye, they said it was like a stroke but also I got hit in the eye with a bit of rope.
‘They think I’d had some mini-stroke but a specialist said it has to be the rope, I still don’t know. I lost my peripheral.’
Lisa revealed that the eye doctor she saw in Blackpool turned out to be her Dancing On Ice professional partner Tom Naylor’s father.
The actress appeared on the hit ITV skating series earlier this year and finished in fifth place.

Lisa said that she told Tom during their stint on the show about visiting an eye doctor in Blackpool to which they realised it was in fact his father.
She added to the publication: ‘He was like, my dad’s bald. What is the likelihood of that – I’d seen his dad three years before we even met.’
The star also revealed that she had to shield for six months during the coronavirus due to having type 2 diabetes.
Lisa is gradually making a staggered return to the ITV soap to shoot scenes amid the ongoing pandemic.

A transient ischemic attack (TIA or ‘mini-stroke’) involves a temporary lack of blood flow to the brain, which causes momentary dizziness, confusion, tingling and numbness in the arms.
It comes after a host of Coronation Street‘s most recognisable stars have reportedly signed new deals to stick with the soap past its upcoming 60th anniversary.
Sally Dynevor, 57, who plays Sally Webster, and Bill Roache, 88, who as Ken Barlow is the world’s longest serving soap star, are among those thought to be staying.
Others names allegedly set for at least another year on the cobbles include Michael Le Vell, 55, Simon Gregson, 46, and Sue Cleaver, 57, reports The Sun.
A source said: ‘These are the lifeblood of the show and, frankly, it would not be Corrie without them.
‘Despite a difficult year, bosses were delighted when they agreed deals, keeping them on screen until at least 2021.
‘Between them, they have given nearly 200 years to the show.’

It comes after Corrie treated viewers to a sneak peak of what to expect in their upcoming action-packed 60th Anniversary week, starting on December 7.
In a very dramatic trailer shared last Saturday, Yasmeen Metcalfe is seen taking the stand for a final time to learn her fate against abuser Geoff while passionate Ken Barlow leads the protest against Ray Crosby’s bulldozers to save the cobbles.
The anniversary week will see three storylines reach spectacular conclusions while also starting off new chains of events which will take the show into 2021 and beyond.
