Zendaya reveals celebrating Emmy win for Euphoria with pancakes while promoting special episodes

Zendaya revealed how she celebrated her Emmy win for Euphoria on Thursday while promoting special Christmas episodes of the HBO series on a talk show.

The 24-year-old actress in September became the youngest winner of the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of teenage drug addict Rue Bennett in Euphoria.

Zendaya received her Emmy Award remotely at home with her family during an awards ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, 53, and he asked her Thursday on Jimmy Kimmel Live how they celebrated afterward.

‘I was so grateful that my whole family was there, you know, just being able to share that moment with them was so special. And we finished the night by, one of my friends makes the best pancakes in the world,’ Zendaya said.

‘So she hooked us up with pancakes. We all ate pancakes in my living room,’ she added.

Zendaya said that her mother had just learned a new song on the piano that she wanted to share and her parents whipped out a ‘little duet’ to Easy Like Sunday Morning.

‘My mom was still learning. It was a little choppy here and there but they got it right. It was beautiful. Yeah, it was a special little thing,’ she said.

Zendaya appeared on the ABC talk show remotely from Atlanta where she is currently filming her third Spider-Man film to promote two special episodes of Euphoria.

She shared a clip from the latest episode titled Trouble Don’t Last Always that included words of wisdom from recovering drug addict Miss Marcia, played by Marsha Gambles.

Zendaya explained that she and show creator Sam Levinson, 35, met ‘Miss Marsha’ when they were shooting the pilot for season one and she was working at a church.

‘We were just taken by her charm and her personality. And her story. She has her own story of addictgion and her own battle with addiction,’ Zendaya said.

Miss Marsha was in the first season and was brought back for the special with her words lending the initial episode its title.

Zendaya said that ‘technically’ it was a Christmas episode because it was set on Christmas Eve.

‘If you’re trying to get in the mood for a happy holiday thing, I don’t know if this is the vibe for you,’ she admitted.
