Jesinta Franklin admits she has days when she ‘misses her old life’ before having children – and reveals she almost vomited during the birth of her daughter Tullulah

Jesinta Franklin, the model wife of AFL star Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin, is about halfway through her second pregnancy.

And the 29-year-old sat down this week for a candid chat about motherhood with Jayde Couldwell and Sophie Pearce, who host the Fisher Price Beyond Play podcast.

During the interview, Jesinta revealed that she felt like she was ‘going to vomit’ while going into labour with her daughter, Tullulah, in February

‘I actually had a very quick birth. She was born 50 minutes past midnight [on February 23]. it was very quick. I like to say I birth like a boss,’ Jesinta said.

‘I wasn’t dilated at all so the midwife was telling me, “Don’t push, don’t push,” but I was like, “This baby is coming! If I don’t push, it’s going to have to come out some way.” The feeling I had from not pushing was wanting to vomit.

‘I just remember looking at [Buddy] and he was in his pyjama shorts, had no shirt on and had just woken up and was like, “What is happening? This is crazy.”‘

Jesinta went on to say it’s important for women to be open and honest about  pregnancy and motherhood.

‘It’s okay to say you sometimes don’t enjoy it or you don’t enjoy the newborn phase or “today, you know what, I just hated being a mum. I miss my old life and I think about it all the time,”‘ she said.

‘Saying those things should be normal and the more we talk about it, we’ll actually see less cases of postnatal [depression]. I think we’ll see anxiety reduce in women,’ she added.

Family life: Jesinta gave birth to the couple's first child, daughter Tullulah, in February, and is now six months pregnant with their second child, due in March 2021

‘Having those open and honest conversations are so beneficial for new mothers or even a second time, third time, fifth, fourth, whatever. It will really improve women’s mental health.’

It comes after Jesinta and Buddy sold their $4million four-bedroom, three-bathroom property in Sydney’s Rose Bay.

They’d purchased the home for $2.35million in 2014, two years before tying the knot.

The Franklins have upgraded ahead of the birth of their second child, spending $5million on a luxury apartment in the same suburb,

Due for completion in January, Jesinta and Buddy’s three-bedroom apartment in the Carlisle development is said to be much larger than the home they just sold.

The new address has an impressive 200 square metres of internal space and 200 square metres of external space.
