Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld appeared to be putting safety first as they filmed scenes of the Hawkeye spin-off on Thursday, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

As the duo resumed production on their highly-anticipated series, slated for a 2020 release, the 49-year-old actor wore a clear face shield and a black jean jacket.

Meanwhile, his Oscar-nominated costar kept her mouth and nose covered under two face masks as coronavirus cases continue to rise in New York City

The actress, who was only recently confirmed to be playing Kate Bishop on the Disney+ Marvel series, wore a cooper coat and her lengthy brown hair in a ponytail.

The 23-year-old Love Myself singer completed her look with a pair of chic white leather boots, which had bright red shoe laces.

Upon meeting up with each other on set, Renner and Steinfeld exchanged a friendly hugg and chatted away as excited onlookers snapped their picture.

Renner unloaded multiple suitcases from a car and appeared in his element, after years of starring as Hawkeye multiple times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

He first made a quick appearance as the superhero in the 2011 movie Thor and again in 2012, before landing a more prominent role in the first Avengers film.

The Hollywood heartthrob has continued to play the character,  including in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which became the highest-grossing film of all time.

His latest project marks Steinfeld’s first step into the Marvel world.

On Wednesday, she was seen shooting for the first time alongside Renner, who has played the superhero and his alter ego Clint Barton for almost a decade.

During their shoot day, the stars were joined by a pooch who was presumably playing Lucky The Pizza Dog.

Lucky The Pizza Dog is Hawkeye’s canine sidekick, who has been featured in the Marvel comic books since 2012.

During the scene, both Clint and Kate appeared to be out of superhero mode, as they were in regular New York City clothes.

Her character, Kate, debuted in April 2005 with the first issue of the Young Avengers comic book series created by Jim Cheung and Allan Heinberg.
