Dr Dre’s eldest daughter has applied for a job as a FedEx driver and reveals she has not seen her superstar rapper father, believed to be worth $800 million, in 17 years, she exclusively told DailyMailTV.
LaTanya Young, 37, said that she desperately wants a relationship with the hip hop legend, 55, and insisted she doesn’t want anything from him except a father-daughter relationship, saying: ‘Money is not what I want, I feel better doing it on my own.’
She admits she feels ‘displaced’ by not seeing her father in nearly a decade, saying: ‘I really just want to have closure. I just want to be able to spend time with my father.’
The mom-of-four hoped that Dre’s ongoing divorce from Nicole Young could bring them closer together but admitted that she doesn’t even know the producer’s personal cell phone number.
She revealed that Dre, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, has never even met her children, his grandchildren.
LaTanya, who now lives in Victorville, California, said: ‘I thought that after Nicole was out of the family, things would be better.
‘I thought that my dad would come around. I would like him to make me feel like a daughter. ‘

The couple had three children together: LaTanya, LaToya, now 36, and Ashley, now 35.
Ever since she was a little girl, LaTanya said that she was forced to go through her father’s staff to communicate with him.
‘I hated going through third parties. If I needed him, I’d have to go to the studio and get bombarded and talked to by his security.
‘I would have to go through his accountant or his right hand man, I would never know whether he got my messages. I have never had a direct line to him.’
While Dre’s net worth is believed to be around $800 million after he sold his headphones and speakers brand Beats By Dre to Apple for $3 billion in 2014, LaTanya has struggled financially.

‘He did offer to help me with tuition but he never speaks to me.

She added: ‘I feel like he gave up on. He gave up on me and I don’t know why do. I still don’t know why.’
LaTanya is training to be a nurse and takes on odd jobs to keep her family afloat.
‘I applied for jobs at Amazon and FedEx. I’ve been a receptionist.
‘In a year I will be qualified as a nurse. It’s hard but I’m strong.’
LaTanya blamed the frostiness of their relationship on Dre’s wife, Nicole.
The pair announced they were getting divorced in June after 24 years of marriage.
‘She was very standoffish and mysterious,’ LaTanya said.
‘I got the impression she didn’t care to know any of us.’
LaTanya claimed that she once went to her father’s home with sisters LaToya and Ashley, when she was 16 and was turned away by his then-wife Nicole.
‘I went to the gate and our names weren’t on the list.
‘The security lady still let us in because she knew us. But Nicole turned into Cruella de Vil.

‘She eventually got him and he said: ‘When I’m sleeping, I’m sleeping, I don’t care if Jesus is at the door, I’m sleeping.”
Despite their strained relationship, LaTanya still hopes to one day be close to her famous father and introduce him to her children.
‘The last time I saw him was when I was 20 at my mom’s house.
‘It was such a good vibe. I do want a relationship with my father, I really do.
‘I have four kids and he’s never even seen his grandkids.
‘My kids like his music. They ask if they can meet him and I don’t even know what to tell them.’
