Brooke Satchwell reveals there is unlikely to be a reboot of SeaChange because of the coronavirus pandemic
Brooke Satchwell says a second season of the SeaChange reboot will not be happening anytime soon.
Speaking to News.com.au this week, the 40-year-old actress said she hadn’t heard anything about filming being resumed for the show amid the ‘concerning’ impact the coronavirus pandemic was having on the local arts industry.
‘There’s not any word on that at this stage,’ she said.

‘I was fortunate in that I was due for a moment’s breath, but the uncertainty looking forward is quite concerning.’

She said she feared there may not be enough local jobs around because of the impact the pandemic was having on the local industry and international productions coming to Australia work.

Despite having some work up her sleeves this year, Brooke said she hopes the Federal government can help the industry.
Brooke is best known for her roles in Mr Inbetween, Wonderland and Neighbours.
In August last year, a rebooted version of the much-loved Australian drama SeaChange returned to Channel Nine to blockbuster ratings.
The new version of the show, which originally aired on ABC from 1998 to 2000, premiered to an incredible 1.105 million Australian viewers and 787,000 metro viewers.

SeaChange originally aired on the ABC for just 39 episodes over three seasons.
Almost two decades after the show last aired, eager viewers returned to Pearl Bay as Laura Gibson (Sigrid Thornton) tried to piece together her life after years living overseas.
In addition to Sigrid’s character making a comeback, John Howard reprised his role as Bob Jelly, who had just been released from prison for fraud.
New cast members included Brooke as Miranda Gibson, Laura’s oldest child, and Dan Wyllie as Ben Russo, the new owner of a local pub.
Darren McMullen, Katrina Milosevic, Kate Lister, Ella Newton and Alex Tarrant also joined the star-studded cast.
