I’m A Celebrity: AJ Pritchard discusses THAT row with Shane Richie

AJ Pritchard spoke about his cleaning tiff with Shane Richie during his eviction interview on I’m A Celebrity on Wednesday night.

The dancer, 26, admitted he found it frustrating when the EastEnders‘ star, 56, didn’t clean the campmates’ tins properly, meaning they were covered in grease and grime when it came to meal times.

It comes amid reports AJ got a dressing down from bosses after he tried to smuggle mouldy mushrooms from the Castle Coin Challenge into camp to feed the ravenous celebrities.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly replayed the scene which they told AJ was perhaps the only point of tension in the series to date.

It showed AJ questioning the campmates on who washed the pans, with him later telling Shane he had left them to soak in the pan that does the hot water, meaning they couldn’t be cleaned properly.

Ant told the ballroom pro: ‘I’m with you like, I have to say, your pan looked completely different to his.’

When asked by Dec if it was frustrating when people didn’t pull their weight, AJ replied: ‘Maybe… I’m not going to lie. I think if you’re going to do your job do it properly, it’s much better between everyone else.

‘The thing is to resolve problems and not let them fester. Shane was really ill at times, you have highs and lows.

‘Everybody was positive. It was rewarding.’

Meanwhile, it was reported AJ tried to feed his hungry campmates by hoarding vegetables from the Castle Coin challenge, which saw him and axed Jessica Plummer transfer food from bucket to bucket for Humphrey the horse

The dancer allegedly got told off because he tried to smuggle the mushrooms back to camp, but producers saw what he was up to when he was caught on camera.

A source told The Sun: ‘AJ thought it would be funny to try and sneak some of the leftover veg, that would just go in the bin otherwise, back to camp.

‘As part of the challenge they had very grim looking vegetables, including mushrooms, to feed the horse. But they’re all so hungry that even mouldy fruit and veg is appealing to them.

‘He had to come clean once he realised what he’d done had been picked up by cameras and microphones meaning he went back to the camp empty-handed.’

MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.

AJ exited the competition with Sir Mo Farah.

The remaining four celebrities- Giovanna Fletcher, 35, Jordan North, 30, Vernon Kay, 46, and Shane Richie, 56,- are now battling it out for a place in Friday’s finale.

I’m A Celebrity continues weekdays on ITV at 9pm.
