George Clooney reveals twins, 3, speak ‘fluent Italian’ while promoting Netflix movie on talk show

George Clooney during a talk show appearance Wednesday revealed that his three-year-old children speak fluent Italian.

The 59-year-old actor made the revelation on Jimmy Kimmel Live while promoting his upcoming Netflix sci-fi movie The Midnight Sky.

Kimmel, 53, asked George what it was like having twin three-year-olds Alexander and Ella with his wife Amal Clooney, 42. 

‘Yeah, it’s a little crazy,’ replied George who kept it casual chic with a black leather jacket over black T-shirt along with blue jeans.

‘Also, we did a really dumb thing. Which is they speak fluent Italian at three, but I don’t speak Italian and my wife doesn’t speak Italian,’ George said.

‘It’s terrible. We’ve armed them with a language. I’ll say, ”Go back in and clean up your room” and they’re like ”Eh, papo stronzo” and I’m like, ”Eh, what?”,’ he added.

George shared that he’s been spending quarantine in Los Angeles with Amal and their twins and his office was turned into a nursery. 

‘It’s a terrible thing,’ he complained half-heartedly.

The actor joked that he sneaked a bottle of tequila in one of the stuffed animals and also revealed that he cooked Thanksgiving dinner for his family.

Jimmy and George also used the Flowbee device on their hair after the actor recently admitted to using one for years.

George was promoting The Midnight Sky that he stars in and also directs.

Jimmy noted that the film was finished before the COVID-19 pandemic, but seemed like it was made with it in mind.

George described it as a ‘film about regret and redemption’ and said it touched on themes about the inability to communicate.

The Midnight Sky is based on the novel Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton and also stars Felicity Jones and David Oyelowo.

George praised child actress Caoilinn Springall who is featured in the film after saying they had budgeted for extra days to accommodate the first-time actress.

‘Every single thing we did with her was one take. I went to the other actors, “See that? One take, I don’t want to hear about your preparation”,’ George joked.

The movie follows a lone scientist in the Arctic in the aftermath of a global catastrophe as he races to contact a crew of astronauts with a warning not to return to Earth.

The Midnight Sky is scheduled to be released on December 23 on Netlix.
