Tiffany Haddish says ‘nutrition is everything’ as she reveals how she dropped 40lbs during quarantine

Tiffany Haddish is celebrating her health journey, now revealing how she dropped 40lbs through hard work, nutrition and exercise.

The Girls Trip talent, 40, opened up about her body transformation in a new interview with People where she revealed her tips and tricks for shedding those extra pounds.

‘I’ve been eating differently, eating way more vegetables, definitely eating directly out of my garden and just really putting in the work, making sure I sweat every single day and staying up on nutrition – nutrition is everything,’ the LA-born comic explained.

But Tiffany also knows she has to make things enjoyable, adding: ‘And I try to dance every day for like five to ten minutes. I think that’s really important, too: Make it fun!’

Haddish said she was inspired by strong women like late track-and-field superstar Florence Griffith Joyner AKAK Flo-Jo.

‘I had this thought in my mind that I want the body of Flo-Jo!’ the stand-up said of the Olympian athlete who still holds the world record as the fastest woman of all time.

Tiffany – who began dating Common around the start of quarantine – also reflected upon how her past struggles with homeless and poverty shaped her perspective.

‘I was homeless and hungry – that’s like two Hs you don’t want to be!’ she told the magazine. 

‘Once I got over that hump, I felt relieved. But also I felt like I must continue to work and create opportunity for others so that I don’t end up that way again.’

Although they were hard times, Tiffany said she has no regrets about her path.

‘I’m grateful for those experiences,’ she explained. 

‘I believed there was definitely going to be a better day, that the things that I was going through was to get me stronger for something greater. That the pain that I was feeling was all to prepare me for success.’
