Millionaire Hot Seat on the hunt for Victorian applicants after filming resumes in Melbourne

Millionaire Hot Seat on the hunt for Victorian applicants after filming resumes in Melbourne following brief relocation to the Gold Coast

Millionaire Hot Seat has opened up casting applications since returning to Melbourne‘s Docklands Studios.

Channel Nine’s afternoon game show was forced to relocate to the Gold Coast two months ago due to a coronavirus outbreak on set of Channel 10’s The Masked Singer, which was being filmed at the same studios.

After filming thirty episodes at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, producers are now hunting for Victorian applicants to appear on the beloved Eddie McGuire show.

At the time, Eddie said: ‘In more than 20 years of making Millionaire, this is the first time we’ve taken the show out of Melbourne.’

‘I can’t wait to experience the hospitality that Queenslanders are renowned for. And with the AFL bubble based on the Gold Coast, there’s no better place to be as we approach the pointy end of the season,’ the Collingwood president added.

Shooting on the Gold Coast got off to a rocky start when Nine were forced to reshoot of the show after it failed to record.

Quiz shot host Eddie told The Australian the same contestants were invited back and had another chance to win big money, but they won the default $1000 prize both times.

‘We were running out[of episodes] and we filmed them in the nick of time,’ Eddie told the publication. It could have been a whole lot worse,’ he said.
