Michael went on to explain that Kelsey Lee enjoys spending quality time with her mother and father after their separation.

‘My little girl just wants time with both her mum and her dad, and that’s what we try and manage,’ he said.

‘I think when you’ve got a child involved [in a divorce], your kid always comes first. Everything else is second to that, so whatever your child needs you find a way to make it work,’ he added.

Speaking about co-parenting with his ex back in September, the former sportsman said said that he and Kyly still have a ‘wonderful’ relationship.

‘I can sit here and say my daughter is the most important thing in my world. I’ve got a wonderful relationship and friendship with Kyly,’ he told the magazine.

Michael explained that the former couple share custody fifty-fifty, each spending three days a piece with the toddler.

‘At the moment we do three nights on, three nights off – that’s our routine. Kyly and I talk daily to work out if that is best for Kelsey Lee,’ he added.

Kyly and Michael announced their divorce in February, after seven years of marriage.
