The American radio personality, 45, explained to audiences at home that all of Monday evening’s guests remotely ‘created an inspired homemade singalong performance’ just for the special.

‘Tonight, we’re celebrating all the holidays — Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa. However you celebrate and wherever you are in the world, this singalong is for you,’ said Seacrest with a smile.

Katy Perry captured the spirit of the season as she sang the melancholy track I’ll be Home for Christmas, as well as her original holiday tune Cozy Little Christmas, which she originally released in 2018.

‘As we’ve come to expect with Katy, she has put her heart and soul into this performance, really going the extra mile. I cannot wait to see this!’ said Seacrest before letting Katy take the spotlight.

Strapped to the top of a vintage station wagon, the singer, 36, donned a full-body Christmas tree costume that only allowed her famous mug and arms to poke out.

With her head resting against the top of the car and her limbs strapped down, Perry displayed her flawless falsetto, singing: ‘Christmas eve will find me / Where the love light gleams / I’ll be home for Christmas / If only in my dreams’

As she uttered the song’s final lyrics, the car carrying Perry could be seen pulling into the driveway of a suburban house.

Before bursting into Cozy Little Christmas, Katy and the driver displayed a bit of physical humor as they attempted to get her down from the top of the car.

Ryan asked the Oh singer to tell viewers at home ‘what the holidays are like for [her] and [her] husband, Russell Wilson, up in Seattle with the kids?’

‘You know, we’re typically in the thick of football during this time of year, so it’s a little bit of football and Christmas. But it’s always the best waking up, you know, as a family and seeing the kids open up their gifts and seeing the joy on their faces. And, of course, the good food on Christmas Day is always the best, too. So it’s always really special,’ she gushed.

After her and Ryan caught up, Future and Sienna graced the screen to proudly introduce their mom’s Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree performance

‘Are you ready to rock around the Christmas tree?’ shouted the siblings as they held onto one another tightly.
