MIC’s Victoria Baker-Harber dotes on baby Gaia and says she loves and stands by daughter’s father

Victoria Baker-Harber surprised fans on Sunday when she revealed she had welcomed a baby girl, Gaia-Grace, with partner Inigo Philbrick, earlier this month.

But the Made In Chelsea stalwart, 32, has shared her concerns about Gaia’s birth being ‘eclipsed’ by Inigo’s current legal woes.

Speaking exclusively with MailOnline, Victoria has insisted she won’t let the situation overshadow the fact that Gaia was ‘born from love’, describing the tot as ‘the light of my life’.

‘I don’t want the joy of something so positive eclipsed!’ Made In Chelsea’s Victoria Baker-Harber is seen doting on her newborn Gaia in tender photos… and tells MailOnline that she loves and stands by her daughter’s father Inigo Philbrick

‘I don’t want the joy of this little girl eclipsed by the situation with Inigo. She is loved and was born from love. I am standing by him and I love him,’ Victoria asserted.

Gallery owner Inigo, 33, was arrested over the summer following accusations he stole more than $20million (£15million) from art dealers.

‘This is about Gaia,’ Victoria went on. ‘I don’t want anything to detract from the happiness and joy I have from bringing this little girl into the world. She is the light of my life.’

‘I agree that there is an interesting story going on in the background but it’s not my story to tell,’ she said, adding that Netflix and other production companies have their eye on the situation to turn it into a film.

Yet Victoria isn’t interested in that. She stands by Inigo – who is yet to meet his newborn daughter – and is focused on being a mother.

‘We had plans to get married. But no-one can get married right now, I definitely can’t,’ Victoria said, noting the current pandemic and Inigo’s circumstances. ‘I am looking forward to when I can see him. And Gaia. It’s not about “will” she meet her father, it’s about “when”.

‘He is honestly the kindest, most decent, loyal, understanding, patient person, otherwise I wouldn’t waste my time with him. He is not some scheming criminal mastermind, not a con man.

‘That being said, I am more than capable of handling things on my own. It is up to me to care for Gaia.’

Victoria said: 'I wasn't even planning to make a big announcement. Gaia is such a blessing for me. I didn't need to document it for anyone else'

Victoria – who says she hasn’t turned her back on Made In Chelsea and could well return to film scenes again when things are more settled – insisted she is not ‘the snob people think I am’.

‘Despite what people think, I will not be having full-time nannies or anything like that. I have chosen to do this on my own,’ she said. ‘This experience has given me a chance for my instincts to kick in. I have got to know Gaia. I understand her, and I want to work it all out for myself.

‘People think I’m some stuck up person but we’re kind of characters when we’re on Made In Chelsea, aren’t we? I am actually a very practical, matter-of-fact, easy going person. I can’t wait to have more children!’

Victoria also revealed Mark-Francis Vandelli, her best friend on Made In Chelsea, will be godfather to Gaia.

‘He will be the best godfather. He has already sent me the most beautiful Marie-Antoinette nursing chair,’ she shared.

Of why she kept the pregnancy a secret, Victoria explained that she feels it to be a personal experience, in her opinion.

‘Ir’s not necessary to be updating the world constantly. I would have always kept this to myself, even if it had happened under different circumstances,’ she said. ‘I wasn’t even planning to make a big announcement. Gaia is such a blessing for me. I didn’t need to document it for anyone else.’

And the famously-steely star has admitted that mothering has come naturally to her.

‘Your primal instincts take over. It’s crazy how it works. There is this in-built knowing,’ she said. ‘Pregnancy – it prepares you – and then by the last two months it all starts to really drag. You just want your baby here!’
