Kelly Clarkson has been awarded primary physical custody of her two children kids, it was revealed in court documents on Monday.

A Los Angeles judge stated that the kids should be with one parent as co-parenting has been a struggle due to ‘trust’ it was revealed in a late October court date.

Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon earlier this year after seven years of marriage.

The children are daughter River Rose, aged six, and son Remington Alexander, aged four.

‘The Court finds that under the circumstances present in this case, the interest in providing stability and continuity for the minor children weighs in favor of Petitioner having primary custody,’ the court document read, referring to Clarkson, according to People

The two will share joint physical and legal custody, but Clarkson will have primary physical custody in Los Angeles, according to the site.

The document adds that ‘the level of conflict between the parents has increased. The parties have a difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them.’

Blackstock will be visiting the children.

That require a lot of travel as she will be living in Los Angeles as that is where she tapes her talk show.

And he will be staying in Montana.

River and Remy spent Thanksgiving with their father and will also be with him from December 19 until 2 pm on Christmas.

Last week, Clarkson appeared to hint at a possible reason behind her split from Brandon.

Reflecting on all she was thankful for this past year on her eponymous talk show, Kelly said, ‘I’m grateful in 2020 for the lesson I learned about… myself.’

She added: ‘Even at 38, I feel like I’m always changing and progressing in a good sense, in a good way. And I always want to make sure I’m being the best version of myself.’

Kelly also revealed that her mother Jeanne had always been a big influence on her decisions.

She said: ‘My mom has been telling me since I was a kid: you are who you surround yourself with.

‘You want to make sure you’re surrounded by people that also want to be the best versions of themselves and also want a good common goal for everyone, not just themselves, right?

‘People, like, could be bad for you in a certain time. And I think that everybody just goes, ‘Oh, well that means they’re bad.’ Well it doesn’t necessarily mean that, it just means that you’re on different paths. And I think that that’s okay.

‘Everybody’s on a different learning curve.’

The singer previously said she was not going to be fully transparent about the split on account of the two children she shares with Brandon, daughter River, six, and son Remington, four.

The pop star told the Los Angeles Times in September: ‘I am a very open person, but I’m not going to be able to be truly open about this in certain aspects because there’s kids involved.’

Since the split, Kelly has been keeping busy with her career.

On top of hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show, she is also a coach on The Voice.
