He’s been making his mark on the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here camp with his funny one-liners and showbiz tales.

And Shane Richie, 56, is said to have been inundated with ‘extraordinary’ offers of work since the ITV show started just two weeks ago.

It comes after EastEnders star admitted he was ‘literally skint’ before heading into the camp at Gwrych Castle and had to borrow money from his friends and family.

In demand:  Shane Richie, 56, is said to have been inundated with ‘extraordinary’ offers of work since he started appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Sources told The Mirror that the amount of attention Shane has been getting from TV bookers has been ‘extraordinary’.

A show insider said: ‘Before going in Shane said he’d love to go back to EastEnders in 2021 but there are now other offers on the table too over the next 12 months.

‘Shane’s going to be a busy man. He won’t be skint when he’s finished taking some of the opportunities available for him now

‘There is nothing to stop him having a big comeback in 2021.’

MailOnline has contacted Shane’s representative for a comment.

Although expecting to have lots of work calls coming in, Shane is already signed up for one project after the UK tour of musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie was postponed until next year.

Shane spoke about his career during Saturday’s unseen bits episode of the show, revealing how he was once offered ‘half a mill’ to do a Daz advert.

Chatting with his campmates, Shane explained how he wasn’t so keen on the idea of a TV commercial so decided he would ‘price himself out’ of the job.

He and his managed decided to ask for £500,000 for the job, which he said was 21 days work over two years. However their offer was accepted and Shane ended up doing the commercial.

Reflecting on the move, he said: ‘It killed my career, before I was Mr Saturday night, had jobs as an actor… I did the Daz ad and work stopped coming in over night.’

He then cheekily referenced his current gig, saying: ‘This one though, 80 quid and all you can eat, I think I’ve been done!’

Ahead of the show, Shane admitted he was ‘literally skint’ and was borrowing money from friends and family after the coronavirus pandemic halted his career and shattered his finances.

In an interview given shortly before his stint started, Shane told how he was saving for a ‘rainy day, but ‘never expected the rainy day to last eight months’.

He told The Mirror: ‘I was going on tour, doing a TV series and panto but it all got cancelled in March. Now I am literally skint!

‘You save for a rainy day but you don’t expect the rainy day to last eight months. Thankfully, I’ve been able to borrow money from mates, my family and the bank.’

The TV favourite, who starred on EastEnders from 2002 to 2005 and 2010 to 2016, went on to say that he was forced to sell his car for extra funds, but can easily travel by moped.

He continued: ‘I am alright, I have had a career and if it all finishes tomorrow, so be it. If the worst comes to the worst, I’ll do stand-up or resurrect a musical.’
