I’m A Celebrity star Hollie Arnold reveals she’s lost a stone in just two WEEKS after living on rice and beans in freezing Gwrych Castle camp

Hollie Arnold says she has dropped almost a stone in weight after surviving on a diet of basic rations during her two-week appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The Paralympian was first to be voted off the show’s twentieth series on Friday evening after spending a fortnight sleeping rough in the grounds of Grade II listed Gwrych Castle in north Wales.

And a steady diet of rice and beans meant Hollie, 26, lost a significant amount of weight before saying goodbye to her celebrity campmates – much to her delight.

She told spin-off show The Daily Drop: ‘I’ve currently lost nearly a stone so I’m actually really happy. I also kind of feel bad as I feel like I’ve lost a bit of muscle mass too.’

This year’s contestants have been living on rations while competing for the winner’s crown during what is the first series to be filmed away from eastern Australia, the show’s traditional home.

But while those competing in the Australian wilderness usually make do with a paltry 700 calories, the 12 campmates currently taking part in Wales have been given an extra 100 per day to cope with Britain’s freezing November temperatures.

Despite treating herself to a slap up meal following her departure from the castle camp, Hollie admitted she was already missing the show as it enters its final week.

She said: ‘I’m just trying to soak it all in. I’m really sad that I’m out, but I’m really happy to be here. I miss being there.

‘I woke up this morning and still thought I was actually there. Two weeks is a long time but I still wish I was there.’

Reflecting on her first meal away from camp,  the sportswoman admitted she was surprised by how little food she could consume after two weeks in the wild.

‘I saw chips and crisps and went straight for that,’ she recalled. ‘Food, flavour, salt! After that much chips I was like, “I feel sick”.

‘There was fruit, chocolate and crisps and everything and I was like, “Why can’t I finish this?” My stomach has shrunk so much.’

She added: ‘The best way they’ve told us is to eat slowly and gradually throughout the day. But I can’t wait to have fish and chips from Grimsby, and curry sauce and scraps and maybe a battered sausage on the side.’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Monday November 30th, ITV1 at 9:00pm.
