Hugh Jackman has paid a gushing tribute to his wife Deborra-Lee Furness on her 65th birthday.

The 52-year-old shared a sweet Instagram picture of his other half blowing out candles on a slice of cake while dining at a restaurant.

In the accompanying caption, the actor lavished Deborra-Lee with praises as he celebrated her ‘wit, courage and loyalty’.

The Greatest Showman star wrote in his caption:  ‘Happy birthday to my incredible wife. 

‘Your courage, wit, open-heartedness, loyalty, creativity, joie de vivre, cheekiness and spontaneity inspire me every day. I love you so much more than any caption can convey.’

Hugh and Deborra-Lee have been happily married since 1996.

Deborra-Lee recently opened up about raising kids from different cultural backgrounds, in reference to the couple’s two adopted children, son Oscar, 20, and daughter Ava, 15.

She told People last week that she and her husband Hugh have always embraced their children’s heritage. 

She confessed that while a lot of her parenting has been influenced by her own mother, she’s also aware that her children ‘have a separate lineage’.

Describing it as ‘just another little hurdle to jump over’, Deborra-lee said she has always encouraged her children to embrace their backgrounds.

After discovering Oscar is part Bosnian, she said the family bought a Bosnian cookbook, which made her son ‘very proud’ of his heritage.

And because Ava is of Mexican descent, the family travelled to Mexico so she could embrace her roots.

‘We completely embrace the ancestors and the extended family, they’re family to us. And it’s in there, even though it’s generational. It may be subtle, but it’s in there,’ she explained.

She added that knowing they have core differences makes things ‘more challenging’ but also ‘more exciting.’
